There is a difference between being in love and being lonely. People have a tendency to lower their standards with time. As a 20-something-year-old, they write a list of mandatory qualities for their future partner, yet that lists gets shorter and shorter as they age. They start to want things like
comfort rather than passion, contentment instead of happiness. They don't genuinely lose interest in these qualities, but they no longer have the patience to wait for them. They want someone to cuddle, kiss, and wake up to, so they choose to stop waiting. They settle for good when they deserve spectacular. Don't compromise on your own standards. You know what you want, you know what you deserve, so don't accept any less.
